Brill Luxus 33 Push reel mower October 12, 2005 T. Ballou (Canyon Lake, TX) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Nice, very light, very high quality. Mows well if grass is not too tall, needs help in tall grass. 96 lb. 61 year old woman can mow complete yard in 32 minutes.
Easy to assemble, easy to use. Great Product! March 9, 2006 g_7 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a great push reel mower. I remember push mowers from when I was a kid, and thought I'd never ever own one as an adult. After getting a house with a small yard in the city, I started to research small gas or electric mowers and came upon the brill push reel mowers and decided to give it a chance after all that I had read about it. The ease of use, minimal maintenance and great grass cutting performance has me regretting I didn't discover this sooner. The 33 is perfect for my yard, plus I've learned its better for the grass, so my lawn looks great. Regular lawn maintenance is easy without the noise and fuss of a gas or electric mower.
No more gas! October 10, 2009 Agnostic (Chicago) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
For six years, I mowed a rather large lawn with popular gas push assist mower. I dutifully changed oil, winterized it, and even sharpened the blades. Then one year, it would not start. Changed the spark plug, cleaned out the fuel line. Nada. So, I got me a Brill. Never again will I go back to gas.
This thing is light enough for me to use after back surgery. It is light enough for my spousette to use. My neighbors have lawn services (the lawns are rather large here) and use commercial machines. My little Brill cut lawn looks better and cuts the grass in a far more gentle (to the grass) manner than any rotary gas mower. And It is absolutely silent and maintenance free. I can be out 6am and not worry, or 7pm and hear the birds as I push.
A great mower that I recommend to anyone.
Brill Push Mower, cheaper than a gym February 16, 2006 M. Hinds (Concord, Ca) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Very light weight, almost too light, it has a tendancy to bounce over parts of the lawn that are not smooth. Requires more than one pass for truly manicured look. No need for a catcher as it mulches nicely. I have it on the highest cut setting and wish it was a bit higher yet. If you mow twice a week during the growing season its very easy to use and still gives good exercise. Pays for itself in a month with saved gardner and gym fees.
A bit small October 10, 2005 Mike Zenanko (jacksonville, al) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The precision of the reel mower is good. The 33 is too small for a large yard. It is light and tends to float on thick grass. This makes it difficult to mow a straight line. Good power sourse.
